Mount Hope Cemetery
Grand Army of the Republic Section Restoration
Lansing, Michigan

The following pictures were taken during the June, July, and August 2007 cleaning and restoration of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) marker and graves at the Mt Hope Cemetery in Lansing, Michigan. The base of the monument and 27 of the now 43 graves were dedicated on May 30, 1875 by the Ladies Monument Association. Sunday, October 14, 2007 has been set for the date of Camp 17's rededication of the GAR Monument, Graves and Plot at Mt Hope Cemetery.

August 2007 - Powerwashing all the Tombstones within the GAR Section.


July 2007 - Repositioning of 1 Spanish-American, 5 World War I, and 1 World War II Tombstones.


July 2007 - Raising of 29 Civil War Tombstones.


June 2007 - Cleaning and Repainting of Flag Pole.


June 2008 - Cleaning of GAR Monument.
